Title: First Graduate Christian Fellowship of the Year
Location: CRC Chaplain’s office, Wycliffe College basement (for directions, email Sara)
It’s that time of year again. The days are getting a bit shorter, children have returned to school, Torontonians continue to lament the weather of the waning summer… And Graduate Christian Fellowship officially begins another year!
This Thursday, September 16 at 6:00 pm is the first of our regular Thursday evening gatherings. We will eat soup and bread together at 6:00pm, prepared by returning members of the community. At about 7:30 or so, we’ll retire to the comfy chairs for dessert and tea, to get to know each other (the return of the introduction question!), to share about what GCF is about, and to pray together for the upcoming year.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you again, and perhaps some of you for the first time that evening.
To sum up:
6:00 – Dinner
7:30 – Introduction to the community; prayer
9:00 – Dishes (“The best conversations happen over dishes!”)
See you then!
Sara DeMoor, associate chaplain
Geoff Wichert, chaplain
P.S. In case you can’t make it to GCF, or you are interested in other communities that are offered through this campus ministry… Here are some other events to check out!
–Wine Before Breakfast (WBB), our weekly Tuesday morning worship service (followed by breakfast in the office) started today, and we will continue to delve into the Sermon on the Mount next week Tuesday at 7:22am in the Founders’ Chapel at Wycliffe. Yes, that’s early, but if you can drag yourself out of bed you’ll be glad you did: the worship is meaningful, the prayer powerful, and the fellowship is energizing. For more information, see the last blog post or click on the WBB tab.
–The Wednesday Bible study is meeting this year from noon to 1pm in the office, with Brian leading. This group studies the texts for the upcoming WBB each week. Even if you can’t make it to Wine Before Breakfast, you’re more than welcome at the Bible study.
If you have friends, perhaps new to U of T, whom you think would appreciate getting these GCF emails, please let me know and I will add them to the list. We find that most of our “promotion” happens through word of mouth; if you have enjoyed being part of any of these communities in the past, consider sharing about them with friends or colleagues, particularly those who may be new to U of T.
Start Time: 6:00pm
End Time: 9:30pm
